I am not sure when exactly I felt that this was necessary or when I decided to make the final decision. It had been rolling around in my brain for a long time. Why wasn’t there a large international student leadership event? Something that wasn’t based on a religion, pushed by a corporation or a large charity? I think it needed to be done. Someone just had to take the risk. Someone who didn’t have to navigate through a sea of red tape; enter me.
I remember a couple of years ago I had the opportunity to have some alone time with Richard Branson, founder of Virgin. He has always inspired me. Not by his wealth but by his “screw it, just do it” method of running his business. I have failed a bunch of times; no one knows half of them. But, I have also succeeded plenty. It’s due to those success that I have been able to take this risk and run the Global Student Leadership Summit (GSLS). “The Summit” as we have come to know it has become a passion of mine and our team. We are excited for the possibility of what could become. What positive changes we could inspire! I am honestly so excited.
My friend, international best selling author, Robin Sharma says, “Just because it’s never been done doesn’t mean it can’t be done.”
So here we go, we took the leap of faith. We just did it! I hope everyone will support it and share the news. We will have more than 60 speakers and 3,000 participants. So, sign up for more information and join the VIL (Very Influential Leader) list. I am confident that “The Summit” will be 4 days that you won’t forget and we will positively impact the world!
